Leeds Indian restaurants Dastaan, Aarti and Bengal Lounge named finalists in British Curry Championship 2024

A number of Leeds restaurants are in the running for the first ever British Curry Championship.

It is the latest initiative by Oceanic Consulting powered by Oceanic Awards, who are proud to announce to continue to support and promote the curry industry.

These awards highlight the top 300 restaurants in the country and showcase the unrivalled skills and creativity of chefs, restaurateurs, and takeaway services across the nation.

Three of Leeds’ finest restaurants have made the final cut.

Looking to take home Yorkshire Curry Champion of the Year is Dastaan.

Located in Otley Road, Adel, this Indian restaurant joined Leeds’ culinary scene last year and has already taken home a number of accolades including Best World Restaurant at the Oliver Awards 2024.

Meanwhile, Aarti in Swinegate and Bengal Lounge in Wetherby will be competing against national curry houses for Nation Curry Restaurant of the Year.

Both restaurants are no strangers to awards.

Aarti, which first opened in Roundhay a decade ago before its move to a bigger site in the city centre last year, took home Best Family Friendly Restaurant of the Year at the Nation's Curry Awards 2024.

On the other hand, Bengal Lounge was named Restaurant of the Year at the English Curry Awards 2023.

Winners of the British Curry Championship 2024 will be announced at a glitzy ceremony in early December.
