Project House: Popular Leeds music and events venue to host two-part birthday bash celebrating first year

The popular Leeds venue is celebrating its first birthday with two day-to-night parties.

Project House opened its doors in Armley in July last year, and has since hosted a wide variety of events including sell-out shows with Idles, Sky Ferreira and Nightmares on Wax and popular markets and events such as Glass Onion and Peddler Market.

To celebrate its first year, the Leeds venue will play host to two day-to-night parties which will feature a line-up of national artists and local DJs as well as street food traders, garden games, family friendly activities and an outdoor sound system.

The first party, which will take place on Saturday, July 20, will be a “Hip-hop House Party” featuring award-winning DJ and producer DJ YODA playing on the outdoor sound system, as well as a line-up of local DJs such as Sangria Kong, Dman, Muddy Brown and DJ Agent M.

Joining in the in-house restaurant Galleria to serve food in the courtyard on the day are local street food traders Homeboy Pizza Co and Braizin’ Squad.

The second party will be held on Saturday, August 10, and will be an all-day disco party headlined by Horse Meat Disco with Andy Buchan, Anastasia McGarel, Grace Barker and Ruubos.

Farsley-based Sabroso Street Food and low ‘n’ slow specialists Koben will join Galleria in the courtyard alongside more family-friendly fun.

Ben Lewis, one of Project House’s owners, said: “Bringing Project House to life over the last year has been such a pleasure.

“Giving Leeds another cultural space to attract new international names to the city, we’ve seen a number of artists who would ordinarily skip Leeds in favour of Manchester add Project House to their schedules, as well as providing a new space for Leeds’ own creators and curators to bring their events to.

“It feels like we’ve built a nice, wide ranging community of cultural events around Project House and these summer parties will be a great way of letting our hair down - and patting ourselves on the back a bit - for what we’ve achieved over the last 12 months, as well as looking forward to watch the future holds.”

Free tickets for the two birthday parties can be found on the Project House website.
