Anton Stach injury hint ahead of Leeds United's trip to Bournemouth

Leeds United are sweating on the fitness of a key player ahead of today’s Premier League clash at Bournemouth.

Leeds United have received a potential injury boost hours before their Premier League trip to Bournemouth via a social media post.

Daniel Farke’s side head to the south coast this afternoon looking to build on an impressive start to the campaign. The Whites have only lost once in the Premier League with three draws in the last four games enough to keep them in the top half of the table.

Speaking ahead of Saturday’s trip, Farke confirmed Anton Stach was doubtful due to a continuation of the foot injury that saw him drop to the bench at Sunderland. Leeds had another training session to prepare with a late decision to be taken.

“Anton Stach is struggling still a bit with his foot injury so, yeah, let’s see,” Farke said. “I hope it will get better in the next 48 hours. That is a bit of a question mark.”

Leeds will be due at the Vitality Stadium any minute and eagle-eyed fans will be looking to see if they can spot Stach. But in typical fashion, the German might have hinted at his availability via social media.

Stach posted a characteristically quirky pre-match graphic on his Instagram story on Saturday morning. The image is of himself in a Halloween style design eating a big plate of cherries, with ‘Bournemouth vs Leeds United’ and the kick off time of 3pm also included.

Matchday graphics are usually a hint the player will be available, with Stach doing something similar ahead of last weekend’s trip to Sunderland. He was fit enough for the bench at the Stadium of Light and we’ll get clarity on his situation when the team news comes out at 1.45pm.

Elsewhere on team news, Farke said: “Good team news. Nico [Elvedi] is way better. He is back in training. As it stands, he is available for this game. Also, a good training week for Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Noah Okafor. They had a normal training week. It seems if nothing happens, they are also fully available.

“And also some good news with Joe. He is since yesterday part-integrated back in team training and the next steps in his rehab right now. He just needs session after session after being out for so long but a way better situation than it was last week. So probably too soon for this weekend but sooner rather than later.”
