When a crane will remove last of temporary Otley footbridge - full disruption details
A crane will remove the final span of the temporary footbridge in Otley.
Night-time works to Otley Bridge will take place this week on Tuesday and Wednesday (December 2 and 3) for works on the footway and in the carriageway (subject to the weather). Further night-time work might be required in the coming weeks.

A crane is planned to arrive on site later today (Wednesday, December 3) and will remove the final span of the temporary footbridge and piles by December 14. After this the reinstatement of both riverside parks, either side of the bridge can continue.
Following the temporary bridge’s removal, Tittybottle Park and a section of Wharfemeadows Park north of the river will be restored. This includes planting several trees in the parks (including two mature oak trees which were temporarily stored in a tree nursery) and 10 trees elsewhere in or around Otley.
The parks and Garnett's Field are expected to be fully restored for public use by the end January next year.
The new 79-metre footway, which opened in November, has been hailed as a major feat of engineering and is expected to last 120 years. Any lovelocks or inscribed padlocks are forbidden on the new footway to help preserve and maintain the fabric of the bridge.
