YouTuber Danny Malin has given his verdict on an award-winning cafe in Leeds that claims to be the best spot for breakfast in the city.

In his most recent video, the social media star visited Bricklebank's Cafe & Bar in Chapel Allerton to try a few items from its extensive breakfast menu.

He said he had been told the cafe, which is in the bustling street of Stainbeck Lane, is one of the best places for a fry-up in the city.

Popping in to order, Danny was met by young owner Adam Bricklebank who suggested that he tried the ‘belta breakfast,’ which comes with two of every component of an English breakfast

Danny also opted for the ‘triplebank’s,’ a trio of poached eggs paired with a potato and onion rosti, as well as a stack of biscoff pancakes.

As he headed outside to set up his table, Danny said he was intrigued by a few things on the menu - including the homemade baked beans in the English breakfast.

But his questions were long forgotten when the meal arrived and he began to tuck in.

“That is absolutely gorgeous,” Danny said.

He continued: “The rostis are amazing just what you want them to be. They're crispy, crunchy, but they are soft and they are seasoned well.

Next, Danny tried the poached eggs. The dish is not something Danny would traditionally order but it had completely “blown him away”.

Everything from the hollandaise sauce to the streaky bacon was “bang on”, Danny said.

He added: “The chefs definitely know what they are doing with their eggs.”

But the highlight of the breakfast menu for Danny were the biscoff pancakes, which he described as soft and fluffy and perfect for anyone with a sweet tooth, like himself.

Upon arriving, Danny said: “The price is up there, it is not your standard cafe where you pay five quid for a brekkie and a cup of tea. It’s going to have to impress me.”

And Bricklebank’s definitely did. Finishing off the pancakes, Danny scored the cafe a “solid 10”.

“For me, guys, they said they are the best breakfast in Leeds. I don’t think I’m going to argue with them, because it’s been absolutely fantastic. I have enjoyed every mouthful of it. I think I may have found the best breakfast in Leeds so far.”
