Your round-up of the latest Leeds United stories as Daniel Farke’s side prepare to face Harrogate Town.

Leeds United’s pre-season preparations will kick up a gear this week as the start of the 2024/25 season closes in. Daniel Farke’s side have just over three weeks until they welcome newly-promoted Portsmouth to Elland Road, and there is plenty to do before then. The first public friendly is at Harrogate Town on Friday evening, but there have been behind-closed-doors games played over the past couple of days.

There is also plenty to do on the transfer front, with Leeds working on bringing players in while managing interest in their own assets. Glen Kamara was the latest to leave on Tuesday after a deal was agreed with Rennes, while there are reports of interest in the likes of Crysencio Summerville and Rasmus Kristensen. It’s set to be a busy few weeks and the YEP has rounded up some of the latest headlines surrounding the club.

Allen in training

Former Leeds academy prospect Charlie Allen is reportedly training with Linfield, following his departure as a free agent at the start of the summer. Belfast Telegraph journalist Steven Beacon reports that the 20-year-old has returned to work with the club he left when moving to West Yorkshire back in 2020.

Allen was one of several players to leave Leeds as a free agent earlier this summer, following the expiration of his contract, with the attacking midfielder unable to break into the first-team despite impressing at under-21 level. He has been without a club for the past few weeks and is now back at Linfield, working under former Whites striker David Healy.

Healy has enjoyed an excellent period of success at Linfield, winning five NIFL Premiership titles in eight years, and has been linked with jobs in England. Allen’s return to the club where he made his senior debut is only to maintain fitness levels, however, with the Northern Ireland youth international still on the lookout for a permanent home.

Kristensen latest

Rasmus Kristensen could soon have clarity on his future with reports from his native Denmark suggesting a move to Eintracht Frankfurt is close. Tipsbladet reports that the right-back looks set to join Frankfurt on loan with his home for next season ‘soon’ in place.

Kristensen is expected back at Leeds in the coming days, having been part of the Denmark squad at this summer's European Championships, and the 27-year-old will hold talks to decide where his future lies. A move away is looking increasingly likely, with rejected bids for Sheffield United’s Jayden Bogle suggesting Farke is keen on signing a new right-back.

Reports on Tuesday cited Frankfurt as a potential destination but Leeds’ £12.6m valuation could prove an issue, with talks about a possible loan taking place. And this most recent report suggests another temporary move now looks the most likely outcome. A move to the Bundesliga side could see Kristensen compete in Europe, having seen Frankfurt qualify for the Europa League last season.
