Leeds United rivals face major call as manager future 'in jeopardy' after unwanted record

One of Leeds United’s Premier League rivals are reportedly considering a managerial change.

There have already been a number of managerial changes in the Premier League this season - and one of Leeds United’s top flight rivals is said to be considering parting ways with their current boss after a run of poor results.

Nottingham Forest became the first Premier League club to make a change in the dugout when they surprisingly parted company with Nuno Espirito Santo in early September just months after he led them into Europe for the first time in almost three decades.

Former Celtic and Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou was immediately installed as successor to the Portuguese boss, who didn’t take long to return to the dugout after accepting an offer to take charge of Premier League rivals West Ham United after they sacked Graham Potter following a slow start to the new season.

A recent report from The Telegraph has suggested a third managerial change could be in the works as Forest consider parting company with Postecoglou just six games into his reign at the City Ground. The Europa League winner has become the first Forest manager in over 100 years to fail to win any of their first six games in charge and that run was extended to seven when his side fell to a 2-0 defeat at Newcastle United on Sunday afternoon.

The Telegraph have claimed Postecoglou was ‘fighting for his future’ at the City Ground before their defeat at St James Park and described owner Evangelos Marinakis was ‘growing seriously concerned by results and performances’. Marinakis is said to be the one that will make the ultimate decision over a possible parting of ways with Postecoglou - but also reveals he will seek opinion from chief football officer Ross Wilson and global head of football Edu Gaspar.

What has Ange Postecoglou said about his future at Nottingham Forest?

Speaking after Sunday’s defeat at Newcastle, he said: "I expect to have a discussion with the owner and everyone else at the football club about what we've embarked on here, where we're at and what we need to do for sure. If people want to make an assessment of me after three and a half weeks, which we've had six or seven games in a row, then there's nothing I can do about that.

"It's a fun game, isn't it? It's fun every week. It's me this week and who knows, maybe you're all right and I'm gone. Next week it'll be somebody else and there's a lot of fun around it. "I don't care. I love the position I'm in right now where I have to fight for everything. It's what I've done my whole career.

"I started in Australia when I was 32 years old in semi-professional football. And I'm here in the Premier League at the age of 60. Do you reckon I lack self-belief or don't like a fight? I didn't get here because of my connections. "In fact, I've picked fights. I have, even in the schoolyard. I've picked fights with people who I knew would beat me up. That's the kind of person I am. I totally understand that it's part of the fanfare around the Premier League that there needs to be a manager who's always under the spotlight. I get that. It's my turn at the moment.”
