Gabby Logan has given an emotional update about her husband Kenny’s prostate cancer treatment, following his diagnosis back in February.

The Sky Sports presenter, 49, from Leeds, previously explained that Kenny, 50, went for health checks after being inspired by her podcast The MidPoint. He underwent surgery to remove his prostate after a biopsy in hospital revealed that he had cancer.

Gabby struggled to fight back tears as she spoke to Steven Bartlett on his The Diary Of A CEO podcast, about how much of a “rock” Kenny has always been for her, while admitting the cancer battle has made them stronger as a couple.

"[Kenny] was really upset as you can imagine and I just thought, ‘Right no, this is going to be absolutely fine, what are we going to do? What are the answers here?,” Gabby said.

Gabby gratefully acknowledged Kenny’s urologist saying that he was “brilliant” and he expertly communicated their options after the diagnosis.

She went on to explain that “once they got over the initial shock” they chose to focus on it as if it was a “project to deal with.”

The former rhythmic gymnast spoke about the “really invasive” surgery which followed, saying: “It’s a bloody awful operation. You basically get six stab wounds in your torso.”

She added: “It was a horrible thing to see him in the pain he was in afterwards, it’s a horrible thing to go through. But he’s doing really well now.”

Gabby and the Scottish Rugby star, who’ve been married for 21 years, have two children.

The sports presenter paid an emotional tribute to Kenny by recalling how they met, adding: “He’s just great. I’m very lucky.”

“I knew I wasn’t going to lose him. I couldn’t have ever wished for anybody to share my life with, who’s better,” Gabby added.

“He’s been the most brilliant supporter, he’s so positive, he’s so encouraging, he really believes in me and gives me such enormous strength.”

Kenny was declared cancer-free in August and has since returned to work as the Director of Logan Sports Marketing.

In an appearance on BBC Breakfast in September, Kenny said that he was feeling “90% back to normal” after the surgery and felt “extremely lucky.”

Kenny explained: “[It’s] hard, because when you’re told you have cancer – I literally fell over, I didn’t see it coming. I had no symptoms whatsoever, I had to go looking for it.”

“I found I had prostate cancer by accident. If you have symptoms it might be too late. Guys go get tested, simple and could save your life,” he added.
