Mike Tindall will become the first extended member of the royal family to star on I’m A Celebrity, Get Me Out Of Here, when the show begins on Saturday 6 November at 9pm on ITV.

The former England rugby player, 44, from Otley, has been announced as one of the twelve celebrities entering the Australian jungle alongside the likes of pop star Boy George, radio presenter Chris Moyles and former Lioness footballer Jill Scott.

Mike, who is the husband of British equestrian Zara Tindall, has said that he is going to miss his wife and their three children while on the reality TV show.

Who is Zara Tindall?

Zara was born on 15 May 1981 to Princess Anne and Mark Phillips.

The British Equestrian, 41, is the younger sister to Peter Phillips and also has two half sisters, Felicity Wade and Stephanie Phillips.

Zara Tindall is the granddaughter of Queen Elizabeth II and is cousins with Prince’s William and Harry, Princesses Beatrice and Eugene, Lady Louise and James, Viscount Severn.

Zara is the godmother to Prince George of Wales, who is third in line to the throne and is 20th in line herself.

Who is Zara Tindall married to?

Zara Tindall (nee. Phillips) married former English rugby player Mike Tindall, after meeting when England won the Rugby World Cup in 2003.

After seven years of dating it was announced by Buckingham Palace that the couple were engaged to be married.

Due to royal protocol at the time, it was required by the Royal Marriages Act 1772 that The Queen had to give her consent to the marriage.

In July 2011, Zara and Mike Tindall married in a ceremony at Canongate Kirk in Edinburgh with 400 guests.

The couple now have three children together, Mia, eight, Lena, four, and Lucas, one, and have openly shared their experiences with two miscarriages whilst trying to grow their family.

Zara Tindall is a British equestrian and a former Olympic athlete.

After studying physiotherapy at the University of Exeter, she began to pursue a career as an equestrian and followed in the footsteps of both her parents.

Her career began in 2003 when she finished as a runner-up in the Burghley Horse trials, before missing out on the 2004 Summer Olympics when her horse suffered an injury.

In 2012, Zara Tindall won a silver medal in the team event at the London Olympic Games and was presented the medal by her mother, Princess Anne.

Zara is still competing in equestrian events and in May 2022 won the advanced class at the Chatsworth Horse Trials, riding her 12-year-old horse Class Affair.
