Police searching for a man who was reported missing from Ossett have found a body.

Donald Grant was reported missing on Sunday (September 29), with CCTV footage showing him leaving the Holiday Inn on Queens Drive in Ossett the Thursday before (September 26).

Police concerned for the welfare of the 87-year-old issued an urgent appeal for any information that would assist in finding the man.

The force have now confirmed that a body was found on Tuesday (October 1) by officers searching for Mr Grant.

His death is not being treated as suspicious, a spokesperson said.

West Yorkshire Police also thanked members of the public for their assistance in sharing the appeal and providing information.
