Leeds chef behind Fern Modern Sushi to open new Central Arcade restaurant

A new restaurant is opening in Leeds this autumn
The chef behind one of Leeds' most popular sushi restaurants is expanding her food empire with an exciting new opening this autumn.
Leeds-based sushi chef Fern, who owns Fern Modern Sushi and the recently opened Tori Nori, will launch her third venture, O Katsu, in October.
Teasing the opening on social media, Fern, whose real name is Lattawan Buchanan, has promised an intimate, 15-cover, booking-free dining experience.
Located inside the Central Arcade, opposite Fern Modern Sushi, the restaurant will serve premium katsu – breaded and deep-fried meat, fish or vegetables – all prepared in an open kitchen.
O Katsu is expected to open on October 10, 2026.
