Why mess with good food?
I’m all for trying new things but there’s some food you just don’t mess with.
If I want beans on a breakfast I want it on top of my breakfast, not in a pot. I’ve been served beans in ramekins, and even jugs. Why waste time and have to wash up extra crockery?
Although putting sauce on my steak in a restaurant means you’re covering something up. A good quality steak cooked and seasoned right doesn’t need any sauce or jus.
This brings me onto gravy, I love strong meaty gravy you can stand a fork up in.
Don’t mess with my gravy either. At a fast food place recently I tried mayo gravy. It was not good.
Keep gravy pure and simple.
Saying that the place did banging chicken but it’s was boneless, and I prefer chicken the traditional way, and on the bone.
It’s also how it’s served that counts.
If I am having a proper dinner, I don’t want a roast served on a board.
A plate needs a lip in it for the lashings of gravy or custard if it’s a pudding.
