DMAs in Leeds: Door times, bag policy, support and possible set list

The Australian indie trio are bringing their Hills End 10th Anniversary Tour to the O2 Academy Leeds this Saturday.

Originally released on February 26, 2016, Hills End was the record that catapulted the Sydney trio from DIY bedroom recordings in Australia to sold-out venues across the UK.

For many fans, this album remains the band's defining statement, capturing a raw, high-energy sound that famously blended the swagger of 90s Britpop with a distinct, modern emotional vulnerability.

This 10th-anniversary tour is a deliberate nod to that origin story; the band famously recorded most of the album in guitarist Johnny Took’s Newtown flat, layering polished studio tracks over the foundations of their original home demos.

Performing the album in full for the very first time, the tour offers a rare chance for fans to hear deep cuts and atmospheric tracks like Melbourne and Play It Out alongside the anthemic hits that have rarely left their setlist.

Revisiting the record in 2026 is also a celebration of the band’s unique relationship with British audiences. As the band themselves noted upon announcing the dates, the UK has always felt like a ‘second home’ - Hills End was the first time their music truly resonated overseas, and this tour serves as a thank you to the fans who have been there since day one.

Joining them for the Leeds show (and the duration of the UK tour) is Salarymen, a fellow Sydney-based band known for their infectious blend of indie-pop, psych, and retro-rock.

What time are doors for DMAs in Leeds?

Fans heading to the O2 Academy Leeds this Saturday should note that doors are scheduled to open at 7pm.

As this is a sold-out anniversary show, a large crowd is expected, so arriving early is highly recommended to navigate security and find a prime spot near the stage.

What is the bag policy for the O2 Academy Leeds?

If you are planning to bring a bag to the DMA'S show, it is important to stick to the venue's strict small bag rule to ensure a smooth entry and avoid delays at the security gates.

The O2 Academy Leeds operates a policy where only one small bag per person is permitted, and it must be no larger than A4 size. Specifically, your bag should not exceed 29.7cm in height, 21cm in width, and 15cm in depth.

It is worth noting that large rucksacks, travel cases, and laptop bags are strictly prohibited inside the space- while there are no on-site facilities to store large luggage, the venue has a partnership with Stasher, allowing fans to pre-book and drop off larger items at nearby secure locations.

To make your night as seamless as possible, we recommend travelling light where possible and double-checking your bag dimensions before heading into the city centre.

To ensure the safety of all fans and to keep entry lines moving quickly, the O2 Academy operates a strict prohibited items policy. Security teams will be conducting bag searches and body pat-downs at the entrance, so please double-check your pockets for the following banned items:

  • Professional Recording Equipment: This includes professional cameras with detachable lenses, GoPros, tripods, and audio recording devices.
  • Large Umbrellas: Small, foldable umbrellas are generally permitted but must be stored in a bag; large or "golf-style" umbrellas will be confiscated.
  • Food and Drink: No outside food or beverages (including water) are allowed into the venue.
  • Illegal Substances: The venue operates a zero-tolerance policy toward illegal drugs and "legal highs."
  • Potentially Dangerous Items: This includes glass bottles, cans, laser pointers, glow sticks, and any items that could be considered a weapon.

The O2 Academy Leeds is a strictly regulated venue, and if you are lucky enough to look under the age of 25, you should be prepared to show valid photographic ID. The venue operates a Challenge 25 policy at both the entrance and all bars within the arena.

Types of ID accepted include a valid, in-date passport, a full or provisional photo card driving license, or a card with a PASS hologram (such as a CitizenCard).

Please note that the venue reserves the right to refuse the sale of alcohol or entry to the standing floor if valid ID cannot be produced upon request.
