Karl Robinson, who left Leeds at the end of last season following their relegation to the Championship, has emerged as the frontrunner for the vacant Fleetwood Town job, according to a report by Football Insider. The former MK Dons, Oxford United and Charlton Athletic boss worked as Sam Allardyce’s assistant alongside Robbie Keane. The Cod Army are in the hunt for a new manager after sacking ex-Celtic skipper Scott Brown.

Midfielder was allowed to leave

The Whites were apparently happy to let Darko Gyabi leave in the last transfer window, according to The Athletic’s Phil Hay on the Square Ball podcast (via Inside Futbol). The 19-year-old, who is an England youth international, was linked with a move away from Yorkshire but ended up staying put beyond the deadline. He was on the books at Manchester City from 2018 to 2022.

Former player latest

Former Leeds defender Jason Pearce is currently in caretaker charge of League One side Charlton Athletic. The 35-year-old, who played for the Whites from 2012 to 2015, guided the Addicks to a 2-1 win over Fleetwood last Saturday. London News Online claim the London club are aiming to step up their search for a new boss and that the club have spoken to Stockport County’s Dave Challinor and Northampton Town’s Jon Brady as they hunt for a successor for Dean Holden.
