Leeds United latest news: International break underway as Whites stars jet off
The latest Leeds United news throughout the day as a number of Daniel Farke’s squad head off for international duty.
Leeds United have a three-week wait for their next Premier League fixture with the season’s first international break underway.
The Whites rounded off an impressive first chunk of the campaign with a 0-0 draw at home to Crystal Palace on Sunday, arguably their most disappointing result so far. But the point leaves them five unbeaten in the league with nine points good enough for fifth in the table.
After full-time on Sunday, a few of Daniel Farke’s players were whisked straight off to Leeds Bradford Airport to join up with their countries. In total, 12 players have been called up for first-team international football with Jean-Matteo Bahoya also joining up with France U21s.

Key call-ups to keen an eye out for include England pair James Trafford and Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who will join up with Thomas Tuchel’s squad today. There is also strong Leeds representation in the Wales setup despite injuries for Joe Rodon and Harry Wilson.
Anton Stach is back in the Germany picture while Tarik Muharemovic (Bosnia), Gabriel Gudmundsson (Sweden) and Ao Tanaka (Japan) are among those to have also left West Yorkshire. One player remaining in Leeds, of course, is Noah Okafor after his withdrawal from Switzerland duty.
The winger’s long-standing issues with head coach Murat Yakin remain and he’ll therefore remain in Leeds to keep working with Farke, after a little break. Brenden Aaronson will also be sticking around, as will Lukas Nmecha, Jayden Bogle and James Justin among others.
Farke suggested last week those not on international duty will be allowed some time off in the aftermath of Sunday’s goalless draw but work will soon restart. Leeds’ next Premier League fixture, in just under three weeks, is no other than a trip to Premier League champions Arsenal.
Stay tuned for all the latest Leeds news throughout the day as we keep an eye on those joining up with their international teammates...
