From half-price Halloween novelties to budget-friendly laser chasers, here are 7 of the best Pets at Home toys to spoil your resident house panther this National Black Cat Day
Today (October 27) marks National Black Cat Day, celebrating those sleek, slinky, mysterious, and endlessly entertaining mini panthers that share our home... or is it that we share theirs?
Established in 2011 by UK welfare charity Cats Protection, the annual campaign was launched to tackle a stark reality in rescue shelters across the country: black and black-and-white cats routinely take significantly longer to rehome than their ginger, tabby, or tortoiseshell counterparts.
While British folklore traditionally associates black cats with good fortune and prosperity, shelter statistics tell a different story.
Whether due to lingering old wives' tales, the silly myth that dark fur doesn't photograph well on social media, or simply blending into the shadows of their rescue pens, these velvet-coated kitties often spend weeks longer waiting for a forever family.
National Black Cat Day shines a much-needed spotlight on these sleek companions, celebrating their vibrant personalities and encouraging adopters to look beyond coat colour. And if you’re already lucky enough to serve a resident house panther, today is the ultimate excuse to spoil them rotten.
From half-price Halloween novelties to budget-friendly laser chasers, here are 7 of the best cat toys from Pets at Home to treat your favourite smitten kitten this October 27.
