Those socialising outdoors at restaurants, bars, beer gardens or in private gardens are in luck this weekend as the city prepares for more dry weather.

Leeds will see highs of 16C as the sun shines across the city - leaving us with a bright weekend ahead.

There is currently no rain at all forecast for the entirety of the weekend - perfect for those who are planning on being out and about and enjoying being allowed to socialise outdoors.

Through a mixture of blue skies and sunshine and sunny spells with spouts of cloud throughout, it will be a spring-like weekend.

It will start to feel colder later in the evenings though, with lows of around 2C in the early hours of the mornings.

In Leeds, the sun will set at 8.22pm on Friday, 8.24pm on Saturday, and 8.26pm on Sunday, meaning it will be lighter for longer while eating or drinking outside.

The weekend weather follows a week of warmth - as Leeds has been hotter than a number of sought-after European destinations.

Friday: Another fine and dry day with some patchy cloud but also plenty of sunshine and generally light winds. Feeling warm with afternoon temperatures a little higher than on Thursday. Maximum temperature 17 °C.

Friday night: Cold with partly cloudy skies this evening. A frost possible by dawn, though coasts and high ground likely to see low cloud and hill fog. Minimum temperature 0 °C.

Saturday: Becoming cooler on Saturday with a cloudy start and cooler air spreading westward through the day. Still some bright or sunny spells in the afternoon. Cold and frosty overnight. Maximum temperature 13 °C.

Outlook for Sunday to Tuesday: Occasionally cloudy, especially near the coast or hills, but still with some sunny spells. Cool by day, and cold with frost overnight. Some rain or showers possible Monday and Tuesday.
