A major Leeds city centre road is closed for the third day as workers battle with the wind to repair a damaged building.

Clay Pit Lane, near the Merrion Quarter, was first closed on Sunday after a building was damaged by high winds.

It has been closed to all vehicles and pedestrians from the A64 to Woodhouse Lane, near to the First Direct Arena.

The road was expected to reopen by Monday afternoon, but due to further winds contractors have been unable to carry out repairs on the building.

Clay Pit Lane will now remain closed in both directions until at least Wednesday morning.
