Nearly 700 lost dogs were collected by Leeds Council in just one year
Tracking the period from November 19, 2018 to November 19, 2019, the council revealed they had collected 692 lost dogs - nearly two per day.
Using its Leeds Found Dogs Facebook group, dog wardens post pictures of found dogs for owners to come and collect.

Hide AdStray dogs are Leeds Council's responsibility under the Control of Dogs Act 1999 and any stray dogs that are found by the public should be logged with the council's Dog Warden Service.
Owners claiming their dogs must provide proof of ownership and pay for a release fee, any veterinary fees and outstanding kennelling charges.
