Leeds fell silent today as it marked Remembrance Sunday and paid its lasting respects to all the brave men and women who paid the ultimate sacrifice.

Services were held across the Leeds district, while Bishop of Kirkstall, Right Reverand Arun Arora, led the central act of remembrance at at Victoria Gardens.

A parade of ex-servicemen and women, veterans’ organisations, and current serving military personnel, led the procession of dignitaries to the war memorial from Rossington Street.

The multi-faith service was followed by a two-minute silence at 11am and a rendition of The Last Post.

Yorkshire Evening Post photographer, Steve Riding, attended the service and caught the following gallery of pictures.
