Cyclist taken to hospital after being hit by car in Guiseley

The incident took place along New Road, close to Nunroyd Park just before 11am, with emergency services closing the road to traffic soon after.
Yorkshire Ambulance Service confirmed that both the air ambulance and a road ambulance attended the scene, with the cyclist being taken to Leeds General Infirmary.

Following the road’s closure, traffic jams built up on the A65, with police urging motorists not to use the area. It is understood the road has since reopened.
A spokesperson from Yorkshire Ambulance Service said: “The call came just before 11am this morning.
“There were reports of a collision between a vehicle and a cyclist.
“An Ambulance, rapid response vehicle and the Air Ambulance attended. The patient was taken to Leeds General Infirmary.”
The YEP is still awaiting an update from West Yorkshire Police, after the force put out a short statement earlier today.
