Originating in 1951, the Leeds Championship Dog Show is an historical event that all dog lovers will enjoy.

Whether you’re competing or just there to admire the prized puppies, we’ve put together this comprehensive guide to everything you need to know about Leeds Championship Dog Show 2022.

When will the events take place?

The show will begin on July 22nd and end on July 24th, spanning the full weekend.

Each day will have an opening time of 10am and a closing time of 6:30pm.

Where will it be held?

The Leeds Championship Dog Show will be held in Harewood House. The full address for the venue is as follows: Harewood House, Harewood Estate, Harewood, Near Leeds, LS17 9LQ.

There are several pet friendly hotels near the venue, with a list provided by the Dog Show’s website. They are: Britannia Hotel, Chevin Country Park Hotel and Spa, Weetwood Hall Estate, The Castle Inn and Days Inn by Wyndham.

What will be taking place on each day?

Friday July 22nd will be dedicated to working, pastoral and terriers, while Saturday July 23 will feature utility and toy games.

Meanwhile Sunday July 24 will contain the hound and gun dog events.

What will the weather be like?

According to the Met Office, the weather over the weekend in Harewood will initially be cool and cloudy, but will warm up as the show progresses.

Friday will be be no hotter than 16.C throughout the day, but likewise, the temperature will also not drop below 14.C. There is also a fairly high chance of rain on this day - the Met Office is predicting a 50% chance of precipitation between 3pm and 6pm.

With a maximum predicted temperature of 21.C, Saturday will be considerably warmer than Friday, though it is still a far cry from the heatwaves we have been experiencing recently.

Sunday will be warmer still, with a maximum temperature of 24.C. It’s expected to get a lot cooler as the day progresses, with the Met Office predicting a minimum temperature of 15.C on this day. There is also a 40% chance of rain, but only from 7pm onwards.
