A Leeds pub has been named as one of the best-rated Wetherspoons in the UK.
Stick or Twist on Merrion Way in Leeds city centre, has been revealed as the seventh most popular Wetherspoons in a study of over 1.9 million Google Reviews.
UK mobile bar hire company Spin and Shake found that Stick or Twist has an average of 4.35 stars, with reviews praising the staff, service, and prices.
One reviewer wrote: "This one is the gem of the city centre and well worth a visit - if you can find a seat!"
Stick or Twist was beaten to the number one spot by Walham Green in Fulham which has an average rating of 4.6 stars.
Bryan Levato, Director of Spin and Shake said: "Wetherspoons is about as consistent as a pub chain gets, with the same menu, the same prices and the same app wherever you go, so you'd expect the reviews to look much the same too, but they really don't.
“At the top, people talk about the building as much as the food and drink, and they keep mentioning quick service at the bar and prices that are hard to beat.
He continued: “Google is usually the first thing people check when they're deciding where to go for a drink, so those stars really matter, and nothing earns them faster than a friendly welcome and a drink in your hand without a long wait."
Across West Yorkshire there are a total of 32 Wetherspoons and they have a combined average rating of 4.09 stars, compared to a UK-wide average of 4.04.
The Golden Beam in Headingley is the second best-rated Wetherspoons in the county with an average of 4.29 stars.
Stick or Twist first opened in Leeds in 1997 before it was demolished to make way for student accommodation in 2018.
Three years later, Stick or Twist was reopened on the same site following a £1.8m development.
