The Food Standards Agency is responsible for ensuring that businesses across the UK meet national food safety laws.
They regularly inspect eateries and award a Food Hygiene Rating based on food handling, storage, and preparation, the cleanliness of facilities, and how food safety is managed.
Scored between zero and five, the assessment reflects the standard of food hygiene found at the time of inspection.
Across Leeds, five takeaways have been awarded a 1* rating and nine takeaways have been awarded a 2* rating.
Both scores mean improvements are necessary.
