It's been a year since I married my soulmate at Leeds Minster in a carnival-style Yorkshire wedding, which felt like a scene out of The Greatest Showman.
I thought I could chill out once we’d married on all that romance stuff. But t’old wife keeps banging on about dates and while I know she’d love nothing more than jumping out a plane or white water rafting for a date, I like eating out - so I’m compromising.
Here are my most romantic places to grab some grub.

7. Blue Sakura
When you’re like us and you’re comfortable in your relationship, it’s worth making the most of Blue Sakura, in the Merrion Centre. It’s a Japanese all you can eat but you order off a menu via an ipad. It’s expensive but the food is incredible plus it’s full of blossom trees so it’s picturesque. | Jonathan Gawthorpe/National World Photo: Jonathan Gawthorpe

8. The Ivy Asia
Another place to get posh nosh is Ivy Asia, on Vicar Lane, which is a modern twist on east Asian cuisine. | Simon Hulme Photo: Simon Hulme

9. Oulton Hotel
Even if you’re not able to stay over at a hotel, they’ve got some banging cuisine too. We stayed at Oulton Hall on our wedding night and their restaurant is lovely and in a beautiful setting just outside of the city centre. | Oulton Hotel Photo: Oulton Hotel

10. Toby Carvery
My favourite meal however is a roast, normally home made by t’old wife, but our favourite is cheap and cheerful Toby Carvery because we went there after I proposed, you get married at Toby but we wouldn’t go that far. | Jonathan Gawthorpe Photo: Jonathan Gawthorpe
