7. Holly
Holly is a four-year-old Bedlington Terrier who builds a strong bond with her human friends over time. She needs time and space initially to build confidence in her environment, but once she knows you well she is a very giddy and playful girl. She really enjoys playing with toys and loves it when you join in. Sadly she has a skin condition which had previously left her in a lot of pain. This led to her being very uncomfortable when handled. The condition is now under control, but she still needs a 'gently-gently' approach to fuss and handling. She will use her body language to let you know if she's not happy and prefers for you to leave her alone. She doesn't want to share her home with any other pets and will need very patient owners. A good passion for dog training will be needed as she is doing really well with the training plan our team have put together and she must stick to this in her home. Due to her occasional worries around handling she cannot live with children and needs an adult only home in a hou
Jake is a very handsome six year old Lurcher. He is one of life's worriers though. He can be shy when he first meets you, but he's easily won over if you've got a few treats in your pocket! Once he knows you he is the softest lad you could meet. He just loves cuddling up with you and is so affectionate. He likes his walks and he also loves lounging on a sofa, a good walk somewhere quiet will keep him happy. He's manageable around other dogs but he doesn't like them in his personal space however he is happy to wear a muzzle out and about. Jake doesn't like being left on his own so he'll need his owners around all the time initially. He'll need to be the only pet in an adult only home where there will be no visiting children at all. He'll also need a good sized secure garden. Most importantly though, he needs owners who will share their sofa with him and who enjoy LOTS of cuddles! Jake will need multiple visits to get to know him before he is ready to fly the nest.
Kumar is a beautiful Akita with a character that melts the heart of everyone he meets. He loves to play with toys and have all of the cuddles he possibly can. He is looking for a retirement home with a fully secure garden for him to potter around in and play until his heart is content. He is an older boy so looking for a quiet life as an only dog but is sociable when out on a walk. Kumar enjoys travelling and loves being outdoors, he walks nicely on lead and enjoys his walks but his days of climbing mountains are over. Kumar loves the company of people and is looking for a home with someone home all of the time so he can lap up all the attention. He can live with children aged 15 years upwards but at 10-years-old he is looking for a quiet life.
Lady is a six-years-old German shepherd dog and has been through a lot in her life time - she has one part of one of her feet missing due to an old injury. As a result she will need very understanding owners who will give her time and space to come out of her shell as she can get very worried and become unsure of what to do in certain situations. Lady likes to have someone around to play with and loves her toys, almost obsessively, and likes to play fetch with her human friends. She gets worried by other dogs and will bark if they get too close to her, meaning she won't be able to share her home with any other pets. Lady is making good progress with her training and enjoys learning new things so she will need this to continue in her new home. She will need her owners around all the time initially as she doesn't like to be left alone and she cannot live with children so needs an adult only home in a low dog populated area. She really enjoys her walks but will need to be walked in quiet areas away from other do
Lyle is a lovely lad who has a lot of potential in the right hands. He's three years old and although he's old enough to know better, he does still lack self-control! He's absolutely full of beans and always on the go so will need a lot of patience from his owners as he learns the ropes of home life. He'll need very dedicated people who have a good understanding of dog training and who are passionate about gradually bringing out Lyle's potential. He is extremely strong on lead so you must be able to confidently handle him out and about. He is a very intelligent dog and very willing to learn. His love of food really helps when doing training tasks with him. If you are looking for a smart boy who enjoys lots of interaction and will be a bit of an ongoing project, then Lyle is your boy!
River is two-years-old and has had very limited exposure to people and new situations. He has grown in confidence by buddying up with other dog friends, which means he must share his home with another young and playful dog who is a sensible best friend and role model for him. When River feels settled, he will show you his true playful character, but this will take a long time and effort for him to fully settle into his new life. River needs a special home with people who are in it for the long term with lots of patience to slowly let him blossom. This needs to be a quiet, calm and predictable adult-only home who will be around all the time initially. River can't have any visitors during his settling in period and few thereafter, with no visiting children, as unfamiliar people will continue to worry him. He won't be able to settle in a busy urban environment so his house needs to be in a peaceful area with nice walking places nearby as he is not keen on the car. It is essential that River has a fully secure ga
