Yeadon Library located on Town Hall Square at the junction with High Street in October 2003. Earlier this year the exterior was given a facelift, the ground floor being entirely re-clad in Yorkshire stone. The former Co-operative Society building has also benefitted from renovations inside. A computer site has been installed to reflect the changing needs of the public, along with other more cosmetic refurbishments. Photo: Leeds Libraries, www.leodis.net

24. Yeadon in the early 2000s
A mixture of old and new buildings in Yeadon High Street. Many of the shop properties are built in millstone grit and have seen a succession of different businesses over the years. The relatively new Morrisons Supermarket complex can be seen right of centre and the building has a glazed entrance and walkway through to a large car park and newly built petrol station at the rear, adjacent to Harper Lane. This view is looking in the direction of the top of the High Street at the junction with Harrogate Road. Photo: Leeds Libraries, www.leodis.net
