Resonance Consultancy, a global advisor on tourism and economic development of cities and destinations, has revealed the top 100 cities in the world.
Many American, European and Asian cities made the list including New York, Berlin and Beijing. Leeds also made the list this year.
It produces these rankings annually, taking into account recommendations by locals and visitors in digital channels such as Tripadvisor, Google, Facebook and Instagram.
The firm also uses its own methodology to produce the rankings. It looks at liveability, the sustainable infrastructure available for communities to grow and loveability, social vibrancy which is believed to be a key driver of economic development by the firm.
It also assess prosperity, which is determined by the amount of equal growth and opportunities available in the city.
This methodology is applied to ‘global cities’, cities with metropolitan populations of more than one million. This is the ninth year Resonance Consultancy has released such rankings and this year, it analysed more than 270 cities.

13. Manchester, United Kingdom - 72
Manchester took the 72nd spot on the list of the the world's best cities. The ranking follows the city's glowing reputation, its world-class university and the growing cultural landscape. It added: "No wonder Manchester is in the Top 50 globally for Tripadvisor Reviews." Photo: Christopher Furlong

14. Birmingham - 85
Birmingham ranked number 85 on the list of the world's best cities. The report from Resonance Consultancy said the the city has "inspired both industry and imagination throughout the centuries". It also commended the city's rich culture. Photo: BERTRAND LANGLOIS

15. Leeds, United Kingdom - 88
Our city ranked number 88 on the list of the world's best cities. The report boasted about the city's growing bar and pub scene, mentioning Mojo and Viaduct Showbar, and the city's gem Roundhay Park. Resonance Consultancy said: "As far as U.K. cities go, it’s good to be Leeds. The city finally gets to reap the fruits of its labor after it lost its European Capital of Culture bid on a post-Brexit technicality in 2017. 7. 16. Hanoi, Vietnam - 96
Hanoi ranked a few spot below Leeds at 96 on the list of the world's best cities. The report mentioned how the growing landscape of the city, with a "plethora of activities and attractions," secured its place in the top 100. 17. Gothenburg, Sweden - 97
The Swedish port city of Gothenburg ranked number 97 on the list of the world's best cities. The report said: "There are ambitious new attractions, from the completely renovated Gothenburg Maritime Museum and Aquarium to rollercoasters in the new Luna Park at Liseberg amusement park."
