New direct Jet2 flights to Funchal in Madeira from Leeds Bradford Airport
Jet2 has announced new direct flights from Leeds Bradford Airport (LBA) to a stunning Portuguese island.
The Leeds-based airline will now be offering direct flights to Funchal on the island of Madeira, an archipelago in the North Atlantic Ocean.
Jet2CityBreaks will operate city breaks to Funchal every Sunday year-round.
The flights will start from Sunday, November 7 from LBA.
A range of 3 to 5-star hotels are also on sale in the city through Jet2CityBreaks.
Funchal, the capital of volcanic Maderia, is a city with a rich 500-year history.
It is the sixth largest city in Portugal and is an island close to Morrocco and the Spanish Canary Islands.
Madeira's climate is warm all year round, with average temperatures of 22 and 20 degrees between November and April.
In the summer months temperatures are on average 25 to 26 degrees.
Steve Heapy, CEO of Jet2.com and Jet2holidays: “We are continuing to see huge demand for Winter 21/22 and Summer 22 from Leeds Bradford Airport, so we are adding Funchal to our Jet2CityBreaks offering to give customers and independent travel agents in the region even greater choice.
"The stunning city with its traditional Portuguese architecture, cosmopolitan dining and shopping scene and lively nightlife, means it has an endless list of attractions and experiences to keep everyone entertained.
"With a fantastic choice of flights and hotels on sale to Funchal from Leeds Bradford Airport for Winter 21/22 and Summer 22, we know that the addition of Funchal to our city breaks portfolio will be welcome news to holidaymakers in Yorkshire looking to get away.
