Jet2 announces flights and festive holidays to six Christmas market destinations from Leeds Bradford Airport

The Leeds-based budget airline has brought back its popular Christmas programme for 2021, as coronavirus restrictions are lifted.

Operating between November and December, the programme offers festive holidaymakers the chance to explore some of Europe's Christmas market destinations.

New city break packages and flights to Berlin and Cologne are now on sale from the end of November.

A series of trips to Vienna will also return, as well as twice-weekly flights and holidays to Budapest, Krakow, and Prague.

Customers can pick from flight-only options with Jet2 com, or package holiday options for a long weekend or mid-week trip with Jet2CityBreaks.

There was a "dramatic surge" in Jet2 bookings following the Government's announcement of the road map out of lockdown last week.

The airline said Summer 2021 bookings increased by 600 per cent in the hours following the announcement.

Demand has surged for destinations across the world, the airline said, and the most popular locations include mainland Spain and its islands, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus and Turkey.

Jet2 has seen a noticeable increase in bookings from July, when schools break up for summer, which continues through the rest of the school holidays.

A Government taskforce will produce a report by April 12 recommending how international trips can resume for people in England.
