Whether you’re planning an intimate wedding in a cosy barn or a grand event with hundreds of guests at one of the city’s hotels, couples-to-be don’t have to travel far to find their perfect venue. We asked Yorkshire Evening Post readers for their recommendations, and they were full of ideas of the most romantic places to get married in the city.
Here are 15 of the best venues in Leeds, as picked by the people who live and have got hitched in the city.
13. Chevin Country Park Hotel & Spa
Another recommendation was the Chevin Country Park Hotel in Otley, which offers a range of packages from intimate ceremonies in the Garden Room to larger celebrations in the Woodland Suite, which seats up to 150 guests. The beautiful venue is nestled in woodland at the edge of the Yorkshire Dales. Photo: Google
14. Temple Newsam House
Nikki Cairns suggested Temple Newsam House as one of Leeds' most romantic wedding venues. Set within 1,500 acres of rolling parkland, formal gardens and intimate lakesides, the magnificent Tudor-Jacobean country house dates back to the 1500s. Both large and intimate weddings can be held in the estate's Great Hall, Dining Room or Still Room. Photo: Gary Longbottom
15. Hazlewood Castle
It's located just outside of Leeds, towards Tadcaster, but this venue was so popular with our readers that we had to include it. Pauline Rollins said: "Magical. Staff are amazing, cannot do enough to help, whatever you want. Grounds are beautiful." Caroline Ashton said the venue was "phenomenal". Photo: Jim Moran
16. Leeds Civic Hall
You can't get more central than Leeds Civic Hall on Millennium Square. The landmark venue was recommended by Rachel Shaw, who said: "Got married to my husband last October in the Civic Hall. Lovely place, definitely recommend." Photo: Jonathan Gawthorpe
