‘Superstars’ Shaun and Stewart recognised for 25 years of caring at Skipton home
Two members of staff at a Skipton care home have been recognised for their dedication after clocking up a combined 25 years of service.

Staff and residents at Threshfield Court care home are celebrating long-service awards for Shaun Medford and Stewart Taylor, who have both played an important role in supporting residents and their families.
Grassington-born Stewart joined Barchester in 2011 after choosing a career in care because he wanted to help others. He now works as a Kitchen Assistant at Threshfield Court, where he is known for his kindness, friendliness and willingness to support colleagues across the home.
Away from his daily duties, Stewart enjoys spending time with residents during his breaks, often bringing them newspapers and chatting about football, the garden and life at the home.
Originally from Knaresborough, Shaun joined Barchester in 2016 after moving from an administrative role into care, wanting to make a more direct difference to people’s lives.
As a Care Assistant, Shaun enjoys building relationships with residents and ensuring they feel happy, comfortable and supported. His compassionate approach has seen him nominated for Employee of the Month in recognition of his commitment.
Regional Director Stacey Nicholson said: “It is wonderful to see Shaun and Stewart recognised for their long service and loyalty to Threshfield Court and our residents.
“They are both absolute superstars who go above and beyond. Nothing is too much trouble and they are always happy to support wherever they are needed. They are fantastic team players and a real credit to the home.”
Adele Keenan, Employee Services Director at Barchester, added: “I’m always pleased to hear stories about the long service of Barchester staff and am delighted Shaun and Stewart have achieved these milestones.
“It is dedication like this that helps ensure our residents receive the best possible care.”
Threshfield Court provides residential, nursing and dementia care for 57 residents, including respite breaks and long-term stays.
