Leeds Gelato brand wins one of the food world's highest honours
Leeds based Avellino Gelato, a premium gelato manufacturer established less than a year ago, has achieved national recognition after winning multiple accolades at the Great Taste awards 2026.
The achievement is particularly significant given the company’s age, with Avellino Gelato reaching this milestone in under 12 months of trading.
Judged by hundreds of independent food experts through blind tasting, the Great Taste Awards are widely regarded as one of the most respected food accreditation schemes in the world, making the recognition a major milestone for both the business and Yorkshire’s growing artisan food sector.
Judges described the 2 star Mango Alphonso as luxurious gelato showcasing outstanding mango.
