"Whether it’s dressing up, organising games, filming fun social media content, or simply stopping for a chat, Andy is known for bringing joy to everyday moments.

"His involvement in activities helps to build meaningful relationships with residents and encourages a strong sense of community living within the home."

Colleagues say Andy is always willing to go the extra mile, supporting not only his own team but also other Exemplar Health Care homes when needed.

He is known for his reliability, responding to requests without hesitation and offering support to those around him.

In addition to his hands-on work, Andy has also supported Exemplar Health Care’s Marketing Team by showcasing life inside the home and highlighting the importance of fun, connection and person-centred care.

His knowledge and expert approach to maintenance, combined with his positive attitude and sense of humour, make him a valued member of the team.

Colleagues describe him as “someone who will do anything to make you smile” and praise his kindness, respect and dedication to both residents and team members.

Speaking about his award, Andy said: “I’m really proud to receive this award. I love being part of Wheldale Heights, it’s such a great place to work and the people here make it special. If I can make someone smile or brighten their day, then that’s what it’s all about.”

Clare Heaton, Home Manager at Wheldale Heights said: “Andy truly embodies our values. His commitment to making every day better for residents, alongside his dedication to teamwork and creating a positive environment, makes him incredibly deserving of this recognition.”
