Leeds Gig Guide: this weekend's concerts in the city, including YUNGBLUD and Strange Forms Festival

From arena pop-punk to the ultimate math-rock weekender at the Brudenell, here are our top live music picks across Leeds this weekend

Whether you are looking for stadium-sized anthems or intimate, sweaty basement gigs, Leeds is delivering the goods this weekend once again - blessed be the area when it comes to eclectic events for eclectic tastes.

The city's legendary live music scene is firing on all cylinders, offering up everything from major homecoming-style arena shows to beloved annual underground festivals.

From a Doncaster lad done good through to the best from under the radar taking over Brudenell Social Club, it’s set to be another huge weekend of events, with the city once again flying the flag loud and proud as one of the country’s musical capitals.

We can hear the chants of ‘Yorkshire! Yorkshire!’ already with that sonic call-to-arms in the newsroom.

YUNGBLUD (Friday - First Direct Bank Arena)

Kicking the weekend off with maximum chaos, Doncaster’s own YUNGBLUD brings his explosive, genre-blurring live show to the First Direct Bank Arena. Known for his fiercely loyal fanbase, boundless energy, and punk-rock ethos, this promises to be a massive Yorkshire celebration.

Expect unhinged energy, massive sing-alongs, and a Friday night show that will leave your ears ringing.

Strange Forms Festival (Saturday and Sunday - Brudenell Social Club)

For fans of math-rock, post-rock, and heavy alternative indie, the annual pilgrimage to the Brudenell Social Club is here. Strange Forms Festival returns for 2026, taking over the iconic Burley venue for a massive two-day weekender.

With a staggering, heavy-hitting line-up, it is an absolute must for those plugged into the underground heavy scene.

Calva Louise (Sunday - Hyde Park Book Club)

If you still have some energy left in the tank on Sunday night, head down to the intimate, low-ceilinged confines of Hyde Park Book Club; Calva Louise are masters of fusing metal, punk, and heavy electronica into a blistering live show.

Supported by KNIFE BRIDE, this is the perfect, high-octane way to close out a massive weekend of live music in the city.
