Mint XL: The legendary team behind Mint Club announce massive new 2,000-capacity venue in Leeds
Leeds' nightlife is set for a monumental shift later this year as the legendary team behind Mint Warehouse and the iconic Mint Club announced their most ambitious project to date: Mint XL.
Building on over three decades of shaping the city’s underground electronic music culture, the Mint brand is levelling up, with the newly announced 2,000-capacity, multi-room venue promising to deliver large-scale events, extended DJ sets, and live performances under one roof.
Designed to operate at a completely different scale to their previous intimate club spaces, Mint XL is purpose-built to act as a versatile cultural hub.

The massive space will feature multiple, highly adaptable rooms, with the main spaces powered by a newly installed, heavyweight Funktion-One Vero sound system, and to ensure an immersive experience, programming will lean heavily into extended DJ sets that give artists the freedom to take audiences on a deeper musical journey.
Keeping true to their underground roots, Mint XL will also enforce a strict no-phones policy during club events, encouraging clubbers to live in the moment and focus entirely on the music and the atmosphere.
While the brand's heart remains in electronic music, the new space will also seamlessly transition into hosting live bands, brand activations, and private hires.
Owner Shane Graham described the new venue as the natural next step in a journey that has spanned nearly two decades.
“Mint XL is the next chapter for the brand. from Mint Club through to Mint Festival, we’ve spent nearly two decades building something special in Leeds,” he explains.
“This is a natural progression of that journey. It allows us to take everything we’ve produced over the years and deliver it at a much bigger club setting.”
Director Mikey McMahon added that the sheer size of the venue unlocks new possibilities for the team's programming: “Mint XL is a big step forward for us. It allows us to programme multi-bill line ups at a much bigger scale across multiple rooms, while also expanding beyond electronic music into live bands, private hires, and brand-led events.
“At its core, we’ve designed it as a fully versatile space that can adapt to different audiences and experiences under one roof.”
While the first glimpses of the space are currently being kept tightly under wraps, those who want to track the development of Mint XL can follow all the action on the venue's official website.
