Leeds Festival has shut down a major stage once again 🚨

A major stage has been shut once again at Leeds Festival with attendees warned it won’t be opening on the final day.

Fans took to the comments section on the official festival Instagram page to demand that it was opened for the final day - with the stage also shut at sister event Reading Festival on Saturday. It appeared at first that they had got their wish, with The Warehouse opening early doors on Sunday.

However, it has since been closed again. One of the YEP’s reporters on the ground has been told it won’t be opening back up today.

Security told us: “I don't think they can make it safe - there's just too many people.”

Some of the acts due to perform at The Warehouse are now due to perform on LS23. It includes Riordan and Rossi and the performances are set to start at the earlier time of 5.50pm.

A news flash has also appeared on the official Leeds Festival app to confirm the closure. It reads: “Unfortunately, Silva Bumpa will no longer be performing at The Warehouse today.

“Please check the app for the latest schedule update.”

Following the closure on Saturday, an Oxfam volunteer told the YEP’s reporters on the ground: “My understanding of it is that the tent was very full, people were not playing ball, and the decision was made to stop the show so no one got hurt.”

Responding to the closure of the stage on Saturday, Julian Fijima, who was performing at the time, explained to his followers in an Instagram story: “Leeds, little update. Unfortunately we had to shut the stage down.

“There was way too many people outside and yeah, we couldn’t keep going. But I’ll be back soon.

“Thank you so much for the energy, enjoy the festival and see you then.”

Locky, who had his set cancelled, posted: “Leeds Fest, stage has been shut down. Gutted. I’ll b (be) back soon.”

Meanwhile Alisha, who was due to perform on Saturday, also confirmed her set had been cancelled. In a post on Instagram, she added: “Set is officially cancelled due to safety of the stage.

“So sorry Leeds Festival, it’s not the DJs fault. I’m absolutely gutted.”
