A mix of rock, folk, Americana and blues
This week’s batch of new CD releases is a genuine mixed bag, running the gamut from Basia Bulat’s classically influenced flights of fancy to some fine examples of rock, folk, Americana and blues.
Arthur Brown’s latest offering shows that this venerable performer has no intention of opting to grow old gracefully.
The Cowboy Junkies bring their graceful and understated approach to bear on a choice selection of covers.
Blues fans are also well catered for, with Krissy Matthews and Mike Zito strutting their stuff and the Down Home Blues anthology shining a spotlight on an array of relatively obscure artists (main photo: Adobe).
