York Knights v Leeds Rhinos: latest team news, milestone and 21-man squads for sold out Super League clash
One Leeds Rhinos player will reach an appearance milestone today as another makes his debut.
Harry Newman is poised to play his 150th game for Leeds when they visit York Knights this afternoon. He will revert to centre, after three games as a winger, in place of Jack Bird who misses out because of concussion.
Newman, 26, was the first player born this century to feature in Betfred Super League when he made his debut in a defeat at Wigan Warriors on July 21, 2017. Australian prop Matt Lodge will pull on a Leeds jersey for the first time, as a substitute, a week after arriving at Rhinos from southern hemisphere NRL club North Queensland Cowboys.
Teenager Oscar Brown, who has yet to play in the senior team, is included in Rhinos’ 21-man squad, but not expected to feature after just 30 minutes of reserves rugby following a long-term injury layoff.

Riley Lumb, Tom Nicholson-Watton and Jeremiah Mata’utia are all included in the 21-man squad after playing for the reserves last week. Coach Brad Arthur is expected to choose between Lumb and Chris Hankinson, who has been playing in the second-row, for the vacant wing slot.
Maika Sivo, James McDonnell, Keenan Palasia, Max Simpson, Alfie Edgell, Danny Levi and George Brown remain on Rhinos’ casualty list.
Outside-backs Ben Jones-Bishop and Scott Galeano are available for York after injury and hooker Thomas Doyle is set for his debut after a move from Wakefield Trinity. Prop Paul Vaughan is sidelined after failing a head injury assessment during last week’s defeat at Warrington Wolves and Nikau Williams also drops out.
The sold-out game is Rhinos men’s first competitive fixture in York since a 28-9 Challenge Cup win at Bootham Crescent in January, 1989. The sides’ last league meeting in the city was three years earlier at Wigginton Road when Leeds were 14-12 victors.
