Rhinos say Newman was checked out by a club doctor at their Kirkstall headquarters and is "fine" to face his hometown club.

The 20-year-old was in eye-catching form before the coronavirus layoff and forced his way into new England boss Shaun Wane's first squad.

Today's behind closed doors fixture against Giants (6.30pm) is Rhinos' first since March 5.
