The two number sevens will go head-to-head when Rhinos visit Huddersfield Giants on Sunday in Betfred Super League round two and Sezer reckons keeping Gale in check will be a key part of Giants’ gameplan.

Luke Gale has a lot of experience and he’s probably their on-field general,” Sezer - who played for Canberra Raiders is last year's NRL title decider - said.

“He has got class to him and if we can nullify him and his plays it will go a long way towards us playing well.”

Sezer scored a try and six goals in Giants’ 32-12 win at Catalans Dragons last Saturday and this weekend will be his first appearance at John Smith’s Stadium.

“I am looking forward to my first game at home,” he added.

“It is a great surface and a great stadium and hopefully that win can bring out a few more Giants fans.

"We are playing Leeds and they are like the big brother up the road - they will be disappointed with their performance in round one and they’ll be looking to bounce back, but we’ve got a job to do and we’ve put the preparation in.”

Rhinos, who lost 30-4 at home to Hull in their opening game, were linked with Sezer during their hunt for a half-back last year.

He said: “I have followed their club for a long time, they are a pretty famous club back in Australia as well.

"They have had a lot of success, they are a club that demands success and they’ve brought a few players in with a wealth of experience this year.”

Sezer insisted Giants aren’t getting carried away with last week’s victory.

He said: “I thought we played well as a team, it is always healthy for the confidence to perform in round one, but there’s a long way to go and hopefully we can keep improving.”
