Dewsbury Rams: Rams' capitulation baffles Morrison

Rams are now just one point ahead of fifth-placed Sheffield Eagles and Sunday’s meeting between the sides in South Yorkshire could decide who claims the last semi-final spot.

“I can’t put my finger on it,” Morrison said of the reasons for his team’s poor showing. We trained well and prepared well and we knew they were going to fight for their lives because if they had lost they were relegated.

“We just didn’t show up, which is very disappointing because, in the past when we’ve lost games, they have been tight.”

Rams trailed only 10-6 at half-time and Morrison added: “We had our chances.

“A couple of tries went against us and then the boys gave up. It is the first time I have coached a team that have rolled over.

“There’s a lot of work and a lot of questions to be answered this week.”

Rams came through with no major new injuries, but Morrison said changes are likely for this weekend’s crucial game.

“I think we have to,” he conceded.

“I want people who put the jersey on to wear it with pride and I didn’t see that.”
