BOSS DARYL Powell is hopeful star winger Greg Eden's latest injury setback will not lead to a long spell on the sidelines.

Eden, Betfred Super League’s top try scorer last year, missed the first two games of the season due to a hamstring problem.

He returned against Hull in February, only to suffer a recurrence and the same thing happened when he attempted a comeback in the 40-28 win at Huddersfield Giants two days ago.

Powell said: “He has gone for a scan [yesterday].

“We are not sure at the moment how bad it is.

“He pulled up a bit when he scored his try and he has got some damage to his hamstring, but I am hoping it is not as bad as it was before.

“The early signs are it’s not, but we won’t know until we get the results of the scan.”

Forward Junior Moors suffered a “head knock” against Giants and Powell confirmed he will not be available for Sunday’s visit of Catalans Dragons.

“Everybody else was all right,” Powell reported.

“There’s a few bits and pieces, but nothing too bad.”

Tigers are fifth in the table, six points behind leaders St Helens with two games in hand.

They won two of their three matches in 11 days over the Easter period and Powell said: “It has been tough, we’ve played on some pretty awful pitches, we had two really tough ones and then on Sunday we played on one of the best fields in the comp’.

“We have done all right, we won three out of four in our second block of games and that’s the positive.

“We can play better, we know that, but ultimately we are winning games and we are in a good place.

“We are just looking to continually improve as a team.”
