Leeds Knights 2 looking for Yorkshire derby bounce back against Hull Jets
AS Davey Lawrence’s Leeds Knights 2 side continue to struggle, Hull Jets make the trip to The Castle this week offering the latest Yorkshire derby challenge.
Things are starting to heat up in North One Moralee as another pointless weekend saw the Knights slip to second-bottom in the standings, with teams above them nearly all having games in hand.
Therefore, the pressure is on when they host Hull on Sunday night (face-off 7.30pm).
Head coach Lawrence says his players must go into the derby encounter with a fresh slate.

“The last time that we played them, that was probably one of our worst games of the year,” said Lawrence. “We've got to go into it with a fresh slate and just chip away from minute one.
"We've got to go in, try and win some periods and hopefully some points.”
With two defeats fresh in their minds from last weekend - at home to leaders Solihull Barons (9-4) and Nottingham Lions, who leapfrogged the Knights in the table with their 6-3 victory at the National Ice Centre frustration is starting to grow for Lawrence.
“We have to go into this game looking to get points,” added Lawrence. “You look along the goals scored side of it, I think we're good enough for sixth in the league – but when you look at goals against, we're ninth.

“So that tells you a story in itself. We have to tidy up at that back end and we have to be opportunistic when our chances land at that front end, and hopefully that'll be enough to see us through.”
“We’re just in a bit of a tough spot at the minute. We had a few more bodies than we've been used to this weekend just gone.
"We're struggling to get any kind of rhythm, but again that’s not really an excuse.
“I thought last weekend that we were second to every puck, shy in battles and not wanting to work in the right areas.
"It's testing our resolve a bit but we have to dig deep. We just can't keep using things as an excuse week after week.”
