Kieran Brown hits latest milestone but sights firmly fixed on more silverware with Leeds Knights

“IT’S not all about me.”

Captain Kieran Brown has gone through a number of milestones in his short Leeds Knights’ career - last week brought another one.

In the 43rd minute of the NIHL National clash at Peterborough Phantoms, having already scored two goals on his first game back following injury, Brown bagged an assist on Owen Sobchak’s game-tying goal.

Not that he was aware at the time, but it was his 600th point for the club since he first signed in the summer of 2021.

Every season he has blasted through the 100-point barrier for the Knights, but the 24-year-old has proved he isn’t just about goals, sometimes scoring as many if not more assists in a single campaign, while also developing other aspects of his game, namely the defensive side.

He is a talisman for the team, effectively producing the kind of numbers imports are usually expected to put up.

But, for all the latest accolades to come his way, Brown is more interested in adding more silverware to the three league titles, playoff crown and national Cup he has already helped deliver in West Yorkshire.

“It’s not all about me,” said Brown. “I couldn’t have done it without my team-mates, so it is a big thanks to them and everyone else that has helped me.

“Getting to that milestone is great, but there’s nothing like lifting a trophy - you can get them points all you want, but lifting them trophies at the end of a season is a lot better.”
