Marcelo Bielsa admits there is 'no news' over goalkeeping situation at Leeds United

Leeds United head coach Marcelo Bielsa has revealed there is 'no news' over the possibility of bringing in a goalkeeper to Elland Road next month.

The Whites have been left with one recognised senior stopper following a season-ending leg break to Chelsea loanee Jamal Blackman.

Bailey Peacock-Farrell, who has been the Argentine's number one for the majority of the campaign, was told in mid-November he would've lost his number one spot had it not been for the injury to Blackman during an Under-23s outing.

The 22-year-old missed the visit of Bristol City three weeks ago with a knee injury meaning England Under-20 international Will Huffer had to step in for his senior debut.

"We do not have any news about it," Bielsa revealed.

"The information I could give you regarding transfers is I see the importance the media give to this subject and if I had any news I would tell you about it."

Asked if there were any goalkeepers he had his eye on, Bielsa responded: "It’s not a task I do because I’m not a specialist. I usually don’t rely on hypothesis.

"Until now I haven’t got any news about the possibility of bringing, or not, a goalkeeper. Of course, if I had any news about that I would comment immediately."
