Not only is Bamford athletically and academically gifted - he got five A*s at GCSE and was offered a scholarship by US university Harvard following his A-Levels - but he's musical, too, and able to play a number of instruments.

The man who once gave a Bach piano recital to his Middlesbrough team-mates was challenged to showcase his skill on the ivories by Crouch on his podcast.

"I can play it a little bit, I'm not brilliant at it," said Bamford when asked about his piano skills.

Crouch and his fellow presenters Chris Stark and Tom Fordyce asked Bamford to attempt 2002 hit A Thousand Miles by American pop singer Vanessa Carlton, giving the Leeds striker until the end of the Premier League season to learn it.

But Bamford has already mastered the intro, as revealed by Crouch today on Twitter.

The second part of Crouch's challenge to the Leeds man was to mime playing the song on piano as a goal celebration. This weekend's clash with Crouch's former side Tottenham Hotspur presents the perfect opportunity to complete his mission.
