Bale netted his second treble in English football and first since Boxing Day 2012 against Aston Villa as Spurs blitzed the already relegated Blades in Sunday night's clash in north London.

The Wales international admitted he was feeling good after a sustained run of games but that focus would now quickly fall on taking on Marcelo Bielsa's Whites in next Saturday's lunchtime kick-off at Elland Road.

"I felt like we were on the front foot, we pressed well, got the ball and got control of it and played some good football.

"As for the hat-trick, it's always nice to get another ball.

"It's nice to get a hat-trick but more importantly get the three points for the team and we move on to the next one."

Son Heung-Min was also on target as Ryan Mason's side moved fifth and Bale has now scored eight goals in his last eight Premier League games.

Asked how he was feeling compared to a peak Gareth Bale the 31-year-old Spurs star said: "I feel good.

"As I said before, I just needed to play games, I needed to just to get a run of games and I am kind of doing that now.

"I'm happy and when I'm happy and we are winning I play well."
