United have splashed out a fee of around £18m to sign the Spanish international defender from Real Sociedad with Llorente joining the Whites on a four-year deal.

The 27-year-old is a natural centre-back but Dorigo is heartened by the fact that Llorente can also play as a full-back and holding midfielder with former Whites left back Dorigo certain that Llorente's five caps for the Spanish national side speak volumes about his worth.

"That tells you a lot about the player, he has got quality, simple as that.

"I like the fact that he is seemingly able to play in different positions and what being able to play in the holding midfield role says to me is that he's really good on the ball and he's got a combative streak to him.

"We are suddenly looking quite well covered at centre-back and across the back."
