All the latest Leeds United news as the Whites prepare to face in-form Brighton this weekend.

Leeds United are preparing for a tough-looking clash with Brighton as they continue their battle against Premier League relegation.

The Whites suffered another setback last weekend, losing to an out-of-form Chelsea side, and this weekend they go up against a Brighton side fighting for European qualification. Leeds need to pick up form amid a mass scramble for safety, with as many as nine teams flirting with the possibility of the drop, and they need to find a way to score goals, managing just one in their last five outings.

As Javi Gracia searches for answers, we have rounded up all the latest news surrounding Elland Road.

Rutter claim

Leeds frontman Georginio Rutter has come in for plenty of criticism since arriving at Elland Road, and according to reports in Germany, he didn’t actually want to join the Whites.

According to Kicker, Rutter didn’t want to join Leeds, and he actually shed tears when the deal was agreed. It’s claimed he had to be convinced by his agent that the deal was the right one to take.

Rutter is now looking to kick on after a frustrating start to life at Elland Road.

Rodrigo speaks

Rodrigo Moreno has spoken about what Leeds need to do if they are to beat relegation this season.

“Now is the moment we need everyone. We already have the spirit from last season that everyone was important in different moments to achieve the main goal,” he said to LeedsLive. “Everyone will be important. Not just the strikers. We need everyone focused, everyone 100 per cent committed and we have been until now.

“We have to keep this because, as I said to you, the most important thing is the union of the group. In these moments, especially in the difficult moments in football, from my personal experience, not just here in Leeds, but in Valencia and Benfica before as well, it’s the most important thing to overcome these moments.”
